Loggieville and the surrounding area have a rich heritage in fishing with wharfs, pilings and earthworks dating back more than 200 years. This history will be told in a setting that provides public access to the river and establishes a community focus on the riverfront at the site of the present main wharf.

Located at the eastern end of the Open River Ecomuseum, St. Andrew's Point is where the river widens into Miramichi Bay on its way to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. More than 200 years of fishing history, the Bounty of the River, are interpreted here, with the industry still represented by a small but active local fishery.
Reached by shoreside trails from the City of Miramichi, the open fields of St. Andrew's Point welcome community events and offer stunning vistas of the distant northern shore. Visitors can explore these shores through an authentic fishing boat tour program.

Key Goals and Strategies
• Provide public access to the river.
• Develop a community focus on the riverfront.
• Establish Miramichi-Loggieville as in integral component of the Ecomuseum network.
